Module 1 PLAN

Rationale

This module will help participants to understand and apply the basic concepts of a quality management system (QMS) within a vocational educational institute.

They will develop a full understanding of quality management, learn how to analyse the current state of their institution, and recognise the preliminary conditions necessary to start a quality project in their organisation. Finally, they will develop an understanding of the relevance of, the principle concepts behind, and how to apply the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and its use in the coordination, management control and continual improvement of processes in the QMS in their institution.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the module the participant will be able to:

  • interpret key concepts of quality assurance, management and culture;
  • list and introduce areas and tasks of an institutional QMS;
  • define the terms of indicators and quality objectives, including those at institutional level;
  • introduce the EQAVET Framework;
  • conduct an exhaustive analysis of their institution, based on EQAVET quality indicators;
  • analyse the present state of their institutional relative to the EQAVET indicators;
  • highlight each stage of the quality cycle (PDCA) and associated quality management tools and tasks.
